A Socio-Pragmatic Study of Impolite Expressions in The American Action Movie ‘‘The Kill Team (2019)”

This study investigated impoliteness theory from a sociopragmatic perspective in the American action movie “The Kill Team (2019)”. The aimed at; investigating most frequent use of strategies movies, finding out how characters’ is affected by social power and solidarity functions used characters these movies. To achieve objectives researcher implemented qualitative content analysis analyzing every impolite situation extracted data movie, which includes utterances employed chosen movie. Additionally, Culpeper’s (1996, 2011) models were adopted identifying types their functions, whereas Brown Gilman’s (1960) theoretical framework was to investigate extent influence strategies. However, there have been lot studies conducted on but focused are pragmatically, without taking into account context this phenomenon occurs.
